We build Shopify and WooCommerce sites with a technical-first approach that combines user experience, conversion-rate optimisation, and back-end analytics to support revenue-focused outcomes and scalable growth.
We implement GA4, Google Tag Manager, server-side tracking, and data pipeline practices (ETL) to reduce signal loss and align marketing metrics with actual revenue and customer journeys.
CRO is integrated throughout design and development: we use quantitative analytics and A/B testing to identify friction, iterate page layouts and copy, and prioritise changes that increase revenue per visitor.
Design decisions are evaluated by measurable impacts on conversion rate, average order value, customer lifetime value, and acquisition cost, with priorities set to improve profitability rather than vanity metrics.
We handle both new builds and redesigns as well as migrations, performance optimisation, and technical debt remediation while preserving or improving revenue-critical tracking and integrations.

Funnel-aware UX
The phrase top website optimization trends for 2023 captures more than design fads - it reflects shifts in performance expectations, privacy, and measurement that directly affect acquisition costs and lifetime value for US brands. This guide breaks down trends that influence revenue, attribution clarity, and conversion efficiency, and shows how to apply them in Shopify, WooCommerce, and B2B sites.
Across industries the dominant optimization imperative in 2023 was: faster pages + cleaner data = more reliable revenue. Teams that prioritized Core Web Vitals, server-side tracking, and funnel-focused UX improvements were able to lower CAC or recover suppressed conversions. For an example of a structured approach to revenue-driven website work, see the Prebo Digital services overview.
Treat optimization as a funnel problem. Below is a compact funnel breakdown used across 2023 optimization programs.
| Layer | Purpose | 2023 focus |
|---|---|---|
| Client-side | Event capture, UX signals | Reduce noise; fast page loads |
| Server-side | Reliable conversion attribution | Server-side tagging & deduplication |
| Analytics layer | Unified reporting | GA4 + measurement modeling |
Practical note: in 2023 many US merchants saw measurable recovery in reported conversions after moving to server-side tracking and verifying deduplication - results vary by ad mix and cookie availability.
Search visibility and paid efficiency both reacted to speed and stability metrics. Teams adopted performance budgets tied to revenue (for example, aiming for sub-2.5s interactive on pages that drive $10k+/month). This is not a one-size-fits-all rule; budgets depend on conversion lift estimates and average order value (for many US eCommerce sites, a $75-$150 AOV is a useful planning band).
With cookie restrictions and iOS/ATT impact, server-side tagging emerged as a priority to improve attribution fidelity. Teams used server-side endpoints to deduplicate events, reconcile payment events (Stripe/Shopify), and feed modeled conversions into ad platforms. For implementation standards and partnership models, teams often referenced agency service pages, such as the Prebo Digital homepage, for technical-first approaches to tracking and analytics.
Personalization moved from novelty to expected. In 2023, US stores prioritized relevance that reduced friction at MOF and BOF - for example, dynamically surfacing payment options (PayPal, Shop Pay), region-appropriate messaging, or pre-filled shipping states. These tweaks are often inexpensive A/B tests that yield measurable MER improvements when aligned with paid spend.
Headless and partial headless setups became more common to decouple the commerce backend from a high-performance frontend. That allowed teams to prioritize Core Web Vitals without replatforming. For teams evaluating retainers or build engagements with a revenue-first partner, review technical capabilities on the About Prebo Digital page to understand engineering approaches and experience.
2023 continued the trend toward stricter privacy expectations. In the US, teams balanced conversion measurement with CCPA and evolving state-level guidance by implementing consent gating that still lets critical server-side events flow for measurement. When planning, assume a percentage of signal loss and model conversion ranges rather than a single-point estimate.
Automation in 2023 focused on test cadence and decisioning - automated holdouts, sequential experiments, and prioritized backlogs based on estimated revenue impact. That systemized approach reduces wasted effort and scales learnings across channels.
A midsize Shopify store with $50 AOV and $100k monthly ad spend might find a 5% conversion recovery from server-side fixes and Core Web Vitals work. At $50 AOV, a 5% uplift on 2,000 monthly orders equals +100 orders or approximately an extra $5,000/month in revenue. These figures are illustrative; real outcomes depend on ad mix and implementation quality.
Start with a revenue-weighted audit: identify the pages that drive the majority of revenue, then apply the checklist above. For design and development retainers that combine strategy, build, and CRO, review engagement scopes on the services page and consider a technical discovery that includes server-side tracking validation.
If you want to explore how these trends apply to a specific store or funnel, consider a focused growth audit that maps technical gaps to expected revenue impact. For partnership conversations or to arrange a technical review, see the contact page for available options.
